“A Cat of Many Colors” features big-hearted cat rescuer and veteran multi-instrumentalist Mel Deal, who began making music as a young boy, eventually making his way to Nashville in 1976. He quickly became an in-demand pedal steel player performing at legendary venues, including Opryland and the General Jackson Showboat. He was a fixture on several popular syndicated TV shows, such as Nashville Now, Star Search, The Porter Wagoner Show and Hee Haw! In this episode, Mel reveals his rescue of over 25 cats and kittens over the years and takes us through his illustrious musical career. “A Groovy Kind of Love” features iconic songwriter, session singer and animal lover, Toni Wine, who co-wrote that famous song with Carole Bayer Sager, which has been recorded by numerous artists, including the Mindbenders and Phil Collins.
