“CATS and a Cowboy” is a special double episode of NashCats, featuring #1 hit songwriter Casey Kelly (George Strait, Kenny Rogers, Dottie West, Joe Diffie, Tanya Tucker) and Leslie Ellis, who is a Grammy award-winning vocalist (Celine Dion), Broadway performer (CATS) and gifted songwriter! Together, they share the heartwarming story of adopting their handsome kitties Jack Black and Mickey, as well as a few highlights of their successful music careers, both individually and as a performing duo. “A Groovy Kind of Love” features iconic songwriter, session singer and animal lover, Toni Wine, who co-wrote that famous song with Carole Bayer Sager, which has been recorded by numerous artists, including the Mindbenders and Phil Collins. His version reached #1 on the US and UK charts and has been played over 7 million times worldwide! She also co-wrote and sang vocals on “Candida,” a #1 hit for Tony Orlando and Dawn in several countries, #3 in the US, and also sang the background vocals on their smash hit “Knock Three Times”. “Calico Cat Dream” is the fifth episode of our NashCats series, featuring Grammy-nominated performing songwriter, Jeff Batson, and Dorcas Unruh, who shares the story behind her rescue of their sweet Calico kitty, Cricket! Along the way you will hear Jeff’s account of how his song “The Rock” came to be recorded by iconic country music recording artist, Tracy Lawrence, as well as his moving musical tribute to the legendary St. Louis Cardinals baseball announcer, Jack Buck.
